Description | Tasmanians will have the chance to hear directly from Major Michael (Dan) Mori, the US Marine Corps counsel whose role was to defend David Hicks when he was incarcerated in Guantanamo Bay for terrorism. For four years, Dan Mori fought for Hicks’s right to go home, becoming alarmed with the way the US and Australian governments were handling the case. Brian Wightman, former Minister for Justice and Minister for Environment, Parks and Heritage, will explore the case and its effects on Dan Mori - who now lives in Australia - in an up-close interview. www.nationaltrustfestival.org.au |
