73rd Anniversary of the Battle of El Alamein

Three major battles occurred around El Alamein between July and November 1942, and were the turning point of the war in North Africa. On the night of 23 October 1942 the Second Battle of El Alamein took place near the Egyptian railway halt. The infantry successfully captured most of their objectives, however not without great casualty. To commemorate this battle family members of veterans and other members of the public are most welcome to attend this service. Wreaths and/or posies are welcome.
