Dedications and Commemoration on Soldiers Memorial Avenue

The Friends of Soldiers Memorial Avenue are commemorating the final six trees to be planted along the Soldiers Memorial Avenue, completing the restoration efforts of FOSMA, the HCC and supporters over the past 13 years. FOSMA’s Patron the Governor of Tasmania will lead the dedication ceremony. The Sacred Heart Choir will perform, the 3rd Light Horse Historical Troop will be in attendance and the Historical Arms and Militaria Society of Tasmania will be firing their 25 pounder gun for the Minutes silence. This event coincides with the official opening of the new Eltham Pavilion at Soldiers Memorial Oval by the Lord Mayor Hobart. There will be refreshments after the formal part of the event, but allowing time for people to move to the Cenotaph for the main service starting at 10.30 am.
