Description

Launceston Alive, City Networks, Scripture Union Tasmania, WayFM and churches of Launceston invite all to join us in commemorating the centenary of the end of World War One, remembering the sacrifice that has been made and celebrating the peace that has been won for us.

One hundred years ago, church bells rang out and banners were raised in thankfulness that the war had finally ended. This November 11th everyone is invited to Prince’s Square for free food, fun activities, music and dance.

Musicians include award winning singer, song-writer Peter Shurley, Steve Cooper, Soul Revival, African singers and others.

Christian community leaders will share reflections and we will stand in solidarity with those from nations who have experienced war in recent times.

The celebration will culminate in a commemorative music festival from 3.30pm in St John's church adjacent to Prince's Square.
