Event Name ANZAC Centenary Stanley Commemorative Paver Project
Start Date Apr 25, 2015 9:00 am
End Date Apr 26, 2015 4:00 pm
Duration 1 day and 7 hours
Description

After the ANZAC Day service at 9am at Stanley, there will be a procession to Godfrey's Beach for a dedication service to the 84 fallen soldiers identified from the Circular Head area. Each soldier has been allocated a 300x300mm paver containing their personal details.

The Circular Head RSL Sub Branch WW1 Centenary Committee believes the foreshore and steep cliffs of the Nut provide a perfect setting to reflect on the experiences of the Australian soldiers who landed at Gallipoli.

The Stanley Town Hall will open after the service for a display featuring:

  • research about the fallen soldiers. The research was undertaken by students from the C.H. Christian School and Smithton High School; and
  • photographic presentations and memorabilia.

Morning and afternoon teas will be available at the Stanley Town Hall which will be open on both Saturday the 25th April and Sunday 26th April until 4pm.
